My name is Jessica Bengs and I am from Sweden. I have been a truck driver for more than 10 years, driving tour logistics since 2016 all over Europe for act's like SABATON, EurovisionSongContest and more. I started as an employee the first 2 years for 'a larger Swedish company and then decided to continue as a freelance driver where I had my own truck for a while just to try. But now I am only freelancing for some of the companies that deal with touring logistics. I enjoy this kind of freedom that goes well with being a mother of a little boy. Plus I run a smaller farm with my husband, who is also in the touring industry. Driving tours is not only a job but also a passion. I love everything about my job, and especially when it gives me the opportunity to tour with my husband who is a production manager. I always give 110% in all parts of the job and I love planning the routes and meeting so many people and seeing all the places. I also love helping the other people on the crew with basically anything when possible. I am active as well with the European organisation Women In Live Music (WILM), an organisation for women working backstage. This engagement is very close to my heart as it is so important to connect and support women and minorities in this industry. It is very giving to inspire and encourage other women to become my colleague in the touring industry. I reckon there are only a handful of female tour drivers, but I am hoping to see more in the future. Please come and meet me at the WILM booth for a chat about being a woman in the event industry!
